Good Morning Ladies/Gents,
I've begun to dabble into a different style writing lately. Faith based reflections. I've been apart of a wonderful committee called Faith & Worship. I belong to a Catholic church and I love my time there. After writing The Maze We Call Life God has really put it on my heart to start article writing. So here it goes.
Lent: Preparation of Easter
Some would say that Lent is also the time to reflect on how to make their relationship better with God. Growing up I was told "Alisha, you need to give something UP "but now at 40 years old, I've been asking my friends and brothers and sisters in Christ what do you do? Give something UP or Lift something up to God. For example: Say extra prayers, help the needy or even do one specific thing repetitive. Some told me they do both at times. When others lift their daily routines from praying and their chores to GOD. Last year I dedicated my week to saying the Rosary 3 times a week. I wasn't very good at the prayer because I always got it jumbled up inside my head. But after last Lent I now know my rosary better and feel closer to God the way HE wants me to.

I find it interesting the outlook of it all. There is one LENT, EASTER, PENTACOST, ADVENT and CHRISTMAS. But we all look at it in a different way. If we looked a little closer though, we only see them slightly different. Lent is a time of wilderness. A wilderness that Jesus endured for HIS people. For without HIM, we would be doomed with a lifeless world. EASTER, the TRUTH of who HE is. PENTECOST-the beauty of the HOLY SPIRIT coming into the disciples, ADVENT of course the preparation for Christmas. The time of waiting for CHRIST to come. Then there is CHRISTMAS. We all hold these time of years to different standards. But one thing stays the same CHRIST. Without Christ and God the FATHER and God the SPIRIT we'd have none of these.
So my question to you, what ever you are going through, how will you recognize Lent this season?
